here we are off to orlando, party of two, without the girls......
why?!?!?
because they are meeting us there. they went with the marching band, and we kinda just vacationed adjacent to them......
at 4:45am, we were up, packed and able to drop the girls off at the band hall, then we headed to the airport for our 7:10am flight. their flight was at 8:50am, so by 5:45am, they (along with ~120 or so other kids and chaperones) were heading to the airport as well.
after landing, we picked up our rental car (hyundai kona) and made the short drive towards our resort. we stopped for lunch (at chickfila, of course) along the way.
we ended up with a room that was only one building away from the girls at all-star movies.
the kids finally arrived nearly 2 hours after we did.
by 4pm, we had caught the shuttle bus to today's park: epcot.
with the girls off with friends, daddy & i set out to see and do mostly new things. we set off to the left side of the world showcase.
we rode the gran fiesta tour boat ride in mexico. it had a relatively short line.
then we could not resist the less than 10 minute wait time to meet our favorite frozen royalty: anna & elsa! we waited over 2 HOURS to see these sisters back in 2014!!
of course, with social distancing now, character meet n greets are just not the same.
we were half looking for a place to eat when we wandered back to norway and decided to try the frozen ever after boat ride. our feet were pretty tired by this time, and it's only day 1!
once we got out of this ride, it was dark and the weather had turned nice and breezy. almost nice enough to make me want to stay for fireworks. ;-) we headed towards the exit.
the short line at spaceship earth lured us in for a quick ride.
and we had another little sister sighting!
thank you, disney, for a magical day!
back at the resort, we finally ate dinner and were just happy to be off our feet.
