thankful

we headed north to oklahoma for a few nights to spend the turkey day holiday with family at the lake cabin.  a last minute realization that daddy's truck needed a brake job meant we had to cram everything into my teeny tiny car.....looks rather roomy to me......

the girls had fun trying out the new zipline with their cousins.

i also took advantage of an opportunity to add yet another swingset recreation photo to our collection.

there was plenty of great food and lots of family around the table.

we even stopped for a cute photo op on the way home in atoka......with some simple cropping, look at what it becomes!

thanksgiving cookies

what a fun autumn color scheme for these cookies made just for fun.  i plan to share them with my new co-workers at our potluck this week.  i really love the deep teal with the orange.

adulting is hard

 

when you hit a curb - sometimes the tire pops!  big sister learned that the hard way on her way to work this afternoon.  she called us to help, and was very willing to contribute to the changing of the tire, with supervision from daddy, of course.  ;-)

headshots

i've never had headshots taken, so today was a first.  my company sent a few of us newbies to their photographer's studio.  i think they turned out well.

bandtober ended for little sister today at the final drumline competition of the season.  and earning 2nd place out of 9 schools, and the caption of best bass line, is not too shabby!  she always has tons of fun with this group and they are so fun to watch.

 it was a long day for percussion, but what else would you expect with a 9:30pm performance time? the show sounds very different inside a gym, but still great!

 the last game!  senior night and boo bowl.  moved up by one day, since there is a severe thunderstorm/cold front moving through tomorrow, the kids celebrated halloween a few days late by performing their annual thriller halftime show and costume extravaganza.  the front ensemble did a great job (again) of choosing a group theme and making it come to life.  with 19 members, they all selected a color and we ended up with a huge box of crayons!

here are the underclassmen - missing the seniors who were lined up with their families for senior night.  each kid had to provide their own shirt, and once i got it - i ironed on the design.  it was easy with the help of my cricut, of course.  little sister and a few others made all of the tutus - that along with making the cardstock hats & shirts, would have been "too too" much for this mom!!

just before halftime, we got all 19 crayons together.  they put themselves in rainbow order....

we sure are gonna miss our four graduating seniors!

the making of the shirts was a process.  it was more stressful collecting the shirts than actually doing the shirts.  but they turned out great!
