first home game in district play was a rainy, cold one!  tied at the half 0-0, little sister's team came out with the win 2-1!  and she even got a bit of play time.  way to go, ladies!

the last three-day tournament before district play starts!

game 1, 1:30pm

game 2, 12 noon: after battling in the cold and having some changes, varsity ended in a 0-0 tie. we have one more game tomorrow to finish up our last tournament.

day 3, 12:45pm: varsity finished up the duncanville classic with a win!

final score 1-0!

sweet sixteen cookies

 i was only given three parameters for this set of cookies: sixteenth birthday, loves purple, and loves mushrooms.......

so i brainstormed a bit and came up with this set.  and mom and daughter loved it!!

tournament #2

game 1, 7:00pm:  daddy, grandma j and i traveled about an hour to see little sister play in game 1 of this weekend's tournament.  it was a hard-fought battle that ended 0-0.  an awesome play at the end where we scored a goal sadly did not count as the refs ruled the clock had run out before the goal was made - but it deserved an instant replay for sure!

if only those existed for this level of play.... 

game 2, 7:00pm: tonight was the successful night that the girls have been looking for!

varsity came out with a solid 2-1 win.

game 3, 11:00am: the final game of the weekend.

tournament #1

little sister and the varsity team travelled ~4 hours south to a 3-day tournament for some play time and team bonding.  little sister didn't play in games 1 or 2 - but when she finally got a chance to play in game 3 - she scored!!

little sister's first game of the new year was just a scrimmage,  but she was able to get some play time.

happy new year!

 we rang in the new year with a few days of family time at the cabin.  we ate good food, did puzzles, played with puppies and enjoyed another awesome fireworks show.  with one more family there than there was sleeping space, my sil and i went halfsies on an airbnb just a short walk up the road.  not only did it offer more beds, but also more refrigerator, kitchen and bathroom space.  i'd say it was a great time!

it was fairly cold for fireworks, so we all got bundled up for the show.

there was also a chance to zipline for anyone that wanted to try.
