trick or treat!

this year the girls decided to join the pokemon go craze and dressed up as pikachu and eevee.  i think they looked adorable!

after meeting up with a neighbor, the girls had fun going around the neighborhood and collecting their treats.

another bunny earned with soccer goals!! little sister was determined yesterday and scored twice, three times if you count the one when she was offsides. daddy's promise - not mine.

 we've been so busy this month, but we finally found some time to go pumpkin hunting!

another great day for the girls in green....the ladies fought to the finish to tie up an early morning match on the fields.....

 then turned around and secured an afternoon win on the volleyball court....

camp jolt

 

first the buses got loaded, then we drove 1 hour north to our 3-day, 2-night science camp Journey On Lake Texoma, otherwise known as camp JOLT.  little sister has been waiting to go to this camp ever since big sister went two years ago, and of course, i HAD to go again as a chaperone.

 cabin 3B - this group looks like trouble to me!! ;-)

day 1 - after moving into our cabins, we went to session 1: low ropes.  the kids had to work together to solve problems without help from the counselor or chaperones.

after a short break, we went to session 2: waders in the wetland.  some kids sure did get very wet!  little sister liked dressing up in the waders and walking along the lake shore.

 after dinner, it was time for the campfire, s'mores, and looking through the telescope, where we saw mars.

day 2 - we started the day with herpetology and petting some reptiles.  right before lunch, the kids got to swing!!

 little sister didn't go as high as she could have, but she was very brave to participate!

 after lunch, we learned about trees and went on a fossil hunt.  but the session little sister was most excited about happened on the last day: archery.  she did very well and even got close to a bullseye!

i feel very blessed to have been able to spend this special time with little sister.

little sister made some nice serves today.  she has come along with her underhand serve, practicing control and aim.  it's fun to see all the girls progress each week in their skills.

moving day

we've been moving small things and boxes over for a few weekends now, but today is they day we attacked the furniture.  room by room, we slowly got it all out.  washer, dryer, refrigerator, freezer - those were all fun.  and we slept in the new house for the first time.

moving pets was another story.  the turtle was the easiest.  the fish resisted, and the largest vessel we could carry him over in was a large stock pot.  i got to do the honors.  the cat was the last pet to move, and the most vocal during the trip, but i am sure he will settle in soon and make the place his playground.

no soccer today, so we were able to concentrate all our efforts on volleyball.

big sister has been preparing for tonight's band concert.  it only lasted about 20 minutes, and all the instruments did awesome!
