princess party

little sister was invited to a birthday party for two classmates (twins) at a place called sweet & sassy.  they got makeovers, manicures, hair styles, and played dress-up for a fashion show.  it was way, way girly - and everyone had a blast! 

two more goals

the **sparkles*** were yet again victorious at today's game.  and little sister scored another two goals!

the girls got some sparkly new sneakers and couldn't wait to try them out today.

little sister's soccer team had another awesome game today.  they triumphed over their opponents 9-2.  little sister made 3 goals, all in the 2nd quarter!  just for fun, her coach announced a new incentive at halftime - $1 for every goal.  (i guess winning 3-1 at halftime was not sufficient.)  this was great news for little sister, since she already gets $1 per goal from us.  needless to say, she walked away with a piggy bank full of bills after this game! ;-)

spring break 2013

this year's spring break was very low-key and relaxing for the girls.  while daddy and i had a normal week of work, grandma pat came for a visit and catered to the girls' every desire.  there was a lot of sleeping in, watching tv, riding bikes and trampoline fun.  there was a day of clothes-shopping, some olive-garden-eating, craft-making, flower-planting and treat-baking.  having the time change at the beginning of the week helped with the sleeping in, i think.  it's nice that the girls can entertain each other (most of the time) and make simple memories of their childhood.  now to finish up the last 12 or so weeks of school before summer!

garage sale finds

little sister was so excited to visit a neighbor's garage sale today.  the girls rode their bikes to the sale early this morning, which was about 20 houses away. after about 15 minutes went by, daddy decided to walk down there and see what was the delay in the girls coming back home.  when they got back, little sister was grinning from ear to ear, with her two new $2 toys.

the first one is called Paperoni, and both girls were entertained by it for about an hour.  big sister worked on a 3-d lion animal and little sister made a mouse.

 the second find is a pottery wheel, which they have yet to try.  i'm sure she'll get her $2 worth of play out of it eventually.  :-)

 

another ice day

no school again!  we ventured out of the house around lunchtime, and passed by a pretty icicle "garden" and decided to stop and get a closer look.  but even though the sun was shining, it was COLD!  19 degrees with a wild chill of 0.  brrrrrrrr!!!
