mcTeacher night

the girls guilted me into mcdonald's for dinner tonight, all in the name of a school fundraiser.  i really should look at it as a win-win: a yummy meal with toy for them, and no cooking for me.

raining again.....

little sister was NOT HAPPY when soccer practice got cancelled at the very last minute tonight.  but she really should be used to it by now.

lillies in bloom

after much anticipation, the lillies in our front yard are finally in full bloom.  and after much coaxing, i was able to get a great pic of the girls with them.

it has not always been so easy, but i'll keep trying as long as they let me...

everything must go

while daddy & i manned our first ever garage sale as part of grandpa's neighborhood sale..... the girls took advantage of the steady stream of customers and sold lemonade.  34 cups at 50 cents each - and a few people even gave them tips.  after 3 hours we decided to close up, but we banked $143.25 in total.  not bad for a saturday morning. :-)

**sparkles*** vs. blues

 another 10 -1 victory for the **sparkles*** today.  little sister played goalie for the 2nd half and no goals got by her.  we were nervous for her but she did a great job.

**sparkles*** vs. sting

it was a hard-fought 5 - 2 victory today for little sister's soccer team.  it was awfully humid and both teams ran out of steam late in the second half, but they came through with the win.

bluebonnets!

we were happy to see the bluebonnets blooming at a local cemetary this morning - so along with many other people we snapped a few photos.  the girls were semi-cooperative, and i managed to get a few good ones.  this is the same location that i took big sister for bluebonnet photos when she was 1 or 2, where she got bit by ants - but thankfully we did not run into ants this time, nor did she recall that.

little sister were kinda obsessed with a large tree in the center of the field, so we got some photos with the tree too.  (i think she just wanted to climb it.)

hoppy easter

the girls were surprised to get dresses & earrings this year from the easter bunny, along with all the other chocolates and treats.  they proudly wore them all day long.  it was too soggy & muddy outside to hunt for eggs, so daddy hid some inside just for fun.

**sparkles*** vs. sweet n sassy

another 6 - 3 win for the **sparkles***!!  little sister scored a goal and made a few assists for goals.  and it was a beautiful sunny spring day in the high 60's.  way to work, girls!

happy birthday, daddy!!

two special days in one?!?  no school (good friday) and daddy's birthday.  the girls went to work with me, then we went home and started work on daddy's peep cake.  we had stopped at the store that morning to get the cake mix and frosting.  the girls picked blue frosting since that is one of daddy's favorite colors.  here is the recipe:

daddy was super surprised to see his favorite springtime indulgence super-sized to be his birthday cake!
