meet the lobos

little sister joined her rec volleyball team tonight as the community came out to support all athletes at the stadium - kind of a kick-off to the school year and sports.  she sure does like hanging, and playing, with these girls!  i'm so thankful she fell in with a great coaching family and can participate season after season.

college day

big sister made the district newsletter!  whoop!! (glasses are fake...lol) 

they have college day about once a month,

and she was so excited to wear her new aggie attire.

first day of school

the girls were up and getting ready before i had to tell them, eager for the first day of school.  i'm sure that trend won't continue, but it was a nice way to start out.  we even had time for hot rollers!

it seems like yesterday that the girls were 5 & 7 years old....now they are in grades 5 & 7!!!

meet the teacher

different night, same school.  the final year...fifth grade!

 we waited in the rain in a long line for the doors to the school to open, then we made the long walk to the 5th grade hallway.  little sister's teacher was not there due to a family emergency, but we dropped off her supplies and saw many familiar faces in the hall.  the girls said hello to a few former teachers and then we headed home, excited for the start of school next week. 

walk the lake

they don't call it "meet the teacher" in middle school....instead, they call it "walk the lake".  but before we left, we discovered just how many school supplies a 7th grader needs.

 then we headed off to a mock-rotation of her 8-period class schedule.  big sister was placed into two science classes, and shorted one elective, but as soon as schedule changes are accepted, that will have to be fixed.  she met up with one friend in 1st period science, and two friends in texas history.  wishing you a super great year!!

urban air

i made good on a promise i had with little sister today.  she wanted her birthday party to be at a trampoline park, but with as many guests as she wanted - that would have cost a small fortune!  instead, i promised her she could have a playdate with one of her friends at a trampoline park.  she chose bailey.

they had tons of fun, before it got too crowded.  but now at least my debt is paid. ;-)

it's official!

we signed the papers today....so we are officially homeless, at the mercy of the builder to finish up the new house.  the new owners are graciously letting us live in the house rent-free until 10/31.  i sure hope it does not take that long, but it's nice to have that cushion and time to move things over slowly.
