yardwork

spring is in the air - which means it's time to get the flowerbeds into shape.  i started about 2 weeks ago and have been doing a little each weekend.  then mulch finally went on sale a few days ago, so we stocked up.  so pretty!!

not a total loss

today the monkeys played without 3 of their regular players, and added 1 teammate that has very little experience so they would at least have 5 players and not have to forfeit.  not surprisingly, the monkeys just couldn't pull out a win.  they played the same team back to back at 9am & 10am.  they took the first match to 3 games, but just couldn't make it happen. (14-25, 25-22, 9-15)  they felt pretty defeated for the second match, and quickly lost in 2 (15-25, 9-25).  on the bright side, little sister got to play the whole time, and really worked on some of her skills.  she made some awesome serves, too.

 once the 10am game ended, it was a quick wardrobe change as we rushed across the street to an 11am game she was refereeing.  then she was the backup referee at a noon game, so she got paid just to check in.  pretty sweet!!

always doing something

what better way to hang out with your friends than to volunteer to be a manager for tennis?  little sister accompanied the newly-formed tennis team to their first meet.  who knows, maybe she'll pick up a few skills from observation...

district meet

tonight was the district track meet, and little sister competed in the 300m hurdles.  she came in 13th place, and helped the 7th grade girls win 1st overall as a team.  this was the last event of her 7th grade track season....now on to 7th grade soccer!!

uil competition

the kids have been practicing for weeks, if not months, and today was finally the day.  and for the first time in the school's history, the non-varsity band walked away today with a sweepstakes.  way to go symphonic band!! 

fusion v storm

tonight little sister scored a goal, helping her team come out with a 5-2 victory at home against the storm.  it was a beautiful night to be outside playing (and watching) a game.

triple header

first up: 9am game to open the spring volleyball season.  csm v spikes.  the monkeys came out with a win in two sets: 25-8, 25-4.

then at 10am, they played the spikes again, and won 25-10, 25-13

later, at 12:30pm - the le fusion took on the dragons and walked away with a 5-1 win.  not a bad way to spend her saturday!

qualifiers

guess who qualified in the 300m hurdles for the district track meet?  this girl!!  she came in 1st in her heat, but 7th overall.  nice work!!

9:30am - depart workshop location for all star movies resort

10:00am - arrive at all star movies resort; unload instruments

take shuttle to disney's magic kingdom

10:45am - begin your day at disney's magic kingdom

lunch in the park ($15 meal card)

dinner in the park ($15 meal card)

8:45pm - settle in for amazing fireworks show

9:15pm - "happily ever after" fireworks spectacular

9:45pm - depart disney's magic kingdom by shuttle for hotel
