 a big loss tonight in football (6-59) but we're just here for the halftime show!

classic fundraiser

today was the full-day annual fundraiser for the marching band.  after a two-year hiatus during the pandemic, we were happy to host 15 local bands to a prelims/final format contest.  we performed in exhibition at 12:45pm, to kick off the day that lasted from 7:30am (setup, prep, etc.) to about 10:30pm (clean up and sales closeout).  i enjoyed my view from the pressbox as i spent the day working with the treasurer collecting cash.

in total, the boosters made quite a bit of money so the can continue to support the band and keep student costs low.

home game #3

first up: pink out at school.  it's funny to think how many years this hot pink tutu has come in handy.  

then it was also pink out and 8th grade night at the game.

most of the percussion 8th graders were put on snare.  so when they started playing....it was LOUD.  here is our reaction to their loudness:

the game was another loss 21-49.

fusion v comets

the fusion ladies enjoyed another victory 8-2 at home today.  it sure was hot!

drumline comp #1

the first drumline contest of three this season was today - and the show tops made their debut appearance.  they really added to the "what's the buzz?" show theme, but i can only imagine how hot the kids were in the 93 degree, 60% humidity with tshirt, shorts, bibbers, and fitted show top.  but they looked and sounded awesome, so that is what matters most.  and little sister helped several other girls put bubble-braids in their hair to unify everyone into one ensemble look.

 the band travelled to mckinney to support the football team.  it was another disappointing loss (16-49) but that did keep the band from having a fun time.

uniforms!!  i don't recall them coming out so early in the past, but here they are.  but first, the usual pre-game load in....

the full moon rising was so pretty!
