day 3

another leisurely start for us, while the girls were up and at it early again.

8:00 am, breakfast at your resort/disney meal card included
9:00 am, take the disney shuttle to magic kingdom for your fun day, disney lunch and dinner cards included
 9:00 pm, enjoy the incredible fireworks show/check daily park schedule for fireworks
9:45 pm, take the disney shuttle back to your resort
11:00 pm, room check

we arrived at magic kingdom around 10am.

our first stop was tomorrowland for monster's inc. laugh floor.

by 11am, we were using a genie+ pass to go for a ride at tomorrowland speedway.

then we saw spotted stitch near space mountain, so i quickly texted big sister since she loves stitch.  well, she and her group had already seen him.

we tried a new ride, the tomorrowland transit authority peoplemover.

it provided a nice aerial view of the park.

while in tomorrowland, we grabbed lunch at cosmic ray's starlight cafe.  we split a chicken nuggets/fries and a greek salad. then we we moved to fantasyland and enjoyed two of our all-time favorite attractions: mickey's philharmagic and "it's a small world."

up next was haunted mansion, a first for me.

then we rode a raft to tom sawyer island, another first for us.  it was a nice escape from the crowds.  too bad we never brought the girls here when they were younger since i think they would have enjoyed roaming around freely and exploring.

i just love walking past the castle. :-)

by 4pm, we were back in tomorrowland for buzz lightyear's space ranger spin.  it wasn't until about 5pm that we actually got on the ride.

at least time time i wasn't as far behind daddy's score.

next we checked out walt disney's carousel of progress, another first for us.

 around 6pm, big sister decided to come hang with us.  then little sister wanted a headache pill from me for her friend.  so of course, that meant mom got a photo - my first with the two of them the whole trip!

the line at pirates of the caribbean was long, but we enjoyed the ride.  except for the drop.

the forecasted rain arrived in the form of sprinkles around 7pm.  daddy & i were planning to head out before the fireworks anyway, and the weather made it an easy decision.

we met up with others from the band who were camped out at the castle saving their spot for the fireworks show.  then it started raining, then it started pouring!  we headed to the bus stop with big sister and some of her group.  their chaperone had said they could go back to the resort early, given the weather.  i had no idea where little sister was, but i'm sure she was getting wet too.

we were on the first busses out (thankfully) as i can only imagine the mad rush behind us to exit the park in the rain.  it was a cold, wet, standing ride back to the resort.  daddy & i showered up and changed into dry clothes before going to the resort's food court for dinner.
