more missing teeth

little sister lost tooth #2 this month on wednesday, her left upper canine - and today she lost her first molar!  now she has a huge gap up top on the left side.  but she is happy to have those wiggly teeth out, crooked smile & all!! ;-)

game, set, match!

after a midday soccer win - the final game of the spring season and coming in 2nd place overall (6-2-2 record)...

....the crazy soccer monkeys faced the team they were tied for first place with.  game 1 didn't go our way, but the girls rallied and won game 2, taking it to a game 3 tie-breaker.  it was very stressful to watch, but the girls pulled it together and remain undefeated!!

bam!!

little sister's teacher recognized her today at the bam (brent's amazing minds) assembly for showing lobo pride.  she has been patiently waiting all year to received such recognition.  only 1 student per class is selected at each assembly, which are held about once per month.  way to go, little sister!!

after some rainy spring weather, the clouds parted and the sunshine returned, and the lilies were so happy!!

choir contest

little sister spent her day today at the pride of texas music festival.  they received 1st division rating!!  then they enjoyed unlimited games and a buffet lunch at pinstack.

 today

3 for 1 day

 first up today: muffins with mom & the book fair.  from 6:45am till the start of school at 7:40am, little sister and i had some bonding time.

next up was her g/t field trip to the perot museum.  i was chaperone for 4 kids, including little sister.  the kids had fun running around and exploring this interactive museum.

after a small rest after school, we headed back at 6pm for the 4th grade music program - "music is awesome!"  the kids had lots of fun singing and dancing to the music.

 the students were asked to dress up several ways, but it was their choice: disco style, dress in formal black like an orchestra member, dress as a farmer, dress as a mummy, or just dress in jeans and a plain bright colored t-shirt.  the dress styles matched the song themes.

the program lasted for about 20 minutes.  enjoy!!

a taste for cookies

want quick, easy, delicious cookies?  make them from a cake mix!  they are so soft and chewy, and you don't have to wait for butter to soften, etc.  

we started with a yellow cake mix, added 1/2 cup of vegetable oil and 2 eggs.  then we divided the batter and the girls added in their own mix-ins.  big sister added chocolate chips, and little sister added mini m&ms with a mega m&m on top. 

they both turned out super delicious!!

first a one solid win on the soccer fields....

...then a nail-biter on the courts.  tied for first place, they played the #3 team, but the crazy soccer monkeys pulled out the win in 2.  still undefeated....

4th grade field trip

today was the 4th grade field trip to dallas heritage village. after riding the bus downtown, the kids were free to explore the village at their own pace.  they toured through buildings from the past and saw how people used to live.

 

then to end the day, little sister finally got a wiggly tooth out - a left bottom lateral incisor.  yshe was able to bend it all the way forward, as seen in this pic i took of her earlier this morning....

art show

little sister was invited to show a piece of her art in the district art show.  they were studying georges seurat and pointillism.  she created a self-portrait.
