let's go band!!

big sister's freshman marching band season kicked off tonight as the lobos took on the northwest texans.  i volunteered as a chaperone and it was a really fun night!

there were 5 buses - 3 for mixed band players, 1 for percussion, & 1 for color guard.  i was assigned to the percussion bus, which was by far the least crowded, least rowdy bus, or so i heard.  (thank goodness!)  big sister seemed to really enjoy herself and this new family of friends.  we are looking forward to what this season will bring!  go lobos!!!

first volleyball game

tonight little sister had her very first 7th grade volleyball matchup against navo.  all 3 lady lobo teams came up victorious.
C team: 25-12 and 25-14

  B team: 25-7 and 25-12 (little sister's team)

A team: 25-9 and 25-6

we are so proud!  little sister is playing the libero position (thus the white jersey).  she got lots of playing time and had some awesome serves.  i think this will be a great experience for her and really grow her confidence in her game.

she likes hanging out with her teammates after school on game days.  when school dismisses at 4:30, they have one hour before the first game to eat.  on away game days, i guess they will use that hour to travel to the games.  game day meals were purchased from jersey mike's sub shop, which include a 5" sub sandwich, chips & a cookie. here's hoping for a great season!!

meet the lobos

tonight was the community pep rally to start out the athletic season for the school year.  big sister played with the band, and little sister walked across the field with her new 7th grade volleyball teammates.  hang on tight - it's going to be such a busy fall for these two!!

soccer returns

tonight was the first practice for the fall season for LE fusion.  let's do this, ladies!!

association night

daddy & little sister joined many of her soccer friends at tonight’s fc dallas game.  after a fairly strong rainstorm and several delays, they called it a night and all went out for a late dinner.

volleyball tryouts

little sister has had to report to volleyball tryouts before school every day this week.  they held tryouts from 7:00-8:35am for 3 days.  and - she made the team!!  so our thursday nights just filled up with games from now 8/30 till 10/18!!

first day of middle school and high school for these lovelies!!  may God bless them and keep them safe & on course this year.

freshman orientation

big sister is starting high school later this week (eek!!) and so tonight we attended freshman orientation.  parents gathered in the auditorium to listen to a presentation given by the high school leadership, and students assembled in the cafeteria where they split into groups for building tours.  she received her photo id and class of 2022 spirit shirt.  with around 2,000 students in grades 9-12, let’s hope she doesn’t get lost in the crowds much her first few days!

crush volleyball tournament

little sister’s last event of her summer volleyball league was a tournament today in the competitive division.  they played four games starting at 8am, back-to-back (to-back-to back) – but came up short in the fourth game against 2legit2hit.  they ended up earning 3^rd place – which is pretty awesome!!  little sister has greatly improved this summer, and i think she’s ready for middle school volleyball tryouts.

final day of band camp

big sister made it thru 10 days for full band camp.  the band played a few songs for us parents tonight, and gave us a preview of the half-time performance they are steadily learning.  the first football game is 8/31, so they have only a few weeks left to get it right.  we are very proud of her hard work and can't wait to see what this marching season brings!

first, all the band & guard members gathered in the auditorium for parents to hear the school fight song, the 1st down piece, and the 2nd down piece.

then we all went outside to the practice area (parking lot) to see them march & play.  i'm excited to see this from higher in the stands at a football game.

during one of the pieces, the band director made an error, which the students were quick to call him out on.  just as the directors make the band do push-ups if they make errors, the kids wouldn't let mr. f get by without taking his punishment.  they kids really enjoyed this!

walk the lake

it's hard to believe this little girl will be in middle school next week!  tonight we got to walk the school to find all of her classes and meet her teachers.  she is super excited about art & theater, although theater is not until the 2nd semester.

 we've got all her school supplies picked out and ready to go!!
