how big?!? how about ALASKA! is that big enough??
we have 5 nights & 5 days to see it all. today we flew on a 787 nonstop to anchorage. departure time: 3:35pm CSTarrival time: 7:30pm AKDT (which is 10:30pm CST)
the girls and i had a row together and daddy sat directly behind me on the aisle. it was a lengthy 6.5 hour flight, but we were so excited to make it there.
um, what time is it again?? and what is with all this daylight??
after a manageable wait for our rental car.....i was just thankful they had a car to go along with our reservation given the national rental car shortage. we lucked out and got a black toyota sienna. we navigated our way to a grocery store to pick up water and snacks for our week's stay. by the time we got to the hotel, we were all too tired to go back out to find dinner.
we snacked on microwave popcorn and tried to settle down for bedtime. with the hotel's hot water heater being repaired (something i overheard while checking in but didn't have the energy to argue about because i was so tired....), daddy & i braved a cold shower (mine was more of a rinse & splash) but the girls just put on pjs and said they would shower in the morning. i think we finally settled down to sleep around 10:30pm (1:30am to our bodies!). i used the eye mask we'd packed because it was hardly dark in our room. goodnight from the land of the midnight sun!!
