track & field

little sister participated in her first track meet today.  it was cold and windy, but at least the sun was out.

her first event at 5pm was the 300 hurdles.  there were a lot of girls stumbling and falling over the hurdles, but thankfully, little sister was not one of them.  she did her best, and came in 2nd place (behind her friend & teammate, kiwi)!!

 

next, she had to wait until almost the end of the meet, at 7pm, and competed in the 1600.  (for anyone who doesn't know, that is 1 mile!)  she finished 4th in that race.  it was a long, cold meet, but she (& many of her teammates) did a great job!
