meant to be

yesterday, daddy & i spent part of our lunch scoping out a local animal shelter for kittens.  we found 2 kitties that have sort of been growing up together in foster care: a black one named stewart & a grey & white one named fred jr.  they were in the cat room and very friendly during our quick visit.  so this morning, just for the sake of comparison, we decided to take the girls to another (larger) shelter to see what they had.  contrary to their website, they only had about 7 cats and they were mostly seniors.  with that location being a bust, we then drove across town to the shelter that daddy & i had gone to yesterday.  but stewart & fred jr. were nowhere in sight! – which was weird because we called before we drove there and they assured us that there had been no adoptions overnight.  so upon asking more specifically at the front desk, we learned that our two kitty friends had been taken to a local pet store as part of an adoption event.  (oh no!!) but the shelter worker was able to call to the store and have them set aside the kitties for us so we could go see them for ourselves.  anyhow, we were able to find our two new friends and after a little getting to know them – we adopted them our new pets.  (and they were running a special – only $40 each!) they say that stewart is about 5 months old, and fred jr. is roughly 4 months old.  so, let the next chapter of cat ownership begin!!

of course, in keeping with our letter "p" pet names theme - these lucky kitties have been given new names.  it's quite the tongue twister, too, keeping things straight!!
