holy cannoli!!

today we got up bright and early and headed to the ribbon cutting/grand opening of our local carlo's bakery.  i was hesitant to brave the crowds and the long wait, but in the end i'm glad we did it.  we arrived in line outside the mall around 7:15am.

luckily, we didn't have to wait outside in the cold very long.  we were led inside to another waiting area.  right around 8:30am, buddy showed up with the mayor, they gave a short speech, then the ribbon was cut.  we were not up close, but i found some good pictures that other fans posted. :-)

after more waiting, we finally got our turn to order some baked treats.  we got two cupcakes, two cookies, and a chocolate mini cake. 

then we got to meet the cake boss himself, pose for pictures, and get his autograph.  we were done around 10:45am.
