lady lobos v cowboys

it was a tough 21-26 loss tonight for the lady lobos.  they were up 16-8 at the half, but the other team came back with all cylinders firing and our girls just could not catch a break.  the lesson handed down by the coach was: take more shots!  so we'll see if that happens in their upcoming games....

winter concert

this evening, we were entertained at little sister's holiday concert at the middle school.  she performed in four songs along with her fellow honor bandmates and percussionists.

first up:  she played bells during still, still, still.

next, the percussion ensemble performed a rhythmic rendition called clap trap.

then, she moved over to the bass drum during parade of the bumbling wooden soldiers.

for the final song, she played the sleigh bells during all i want for christmas is you.

basketball portraits

holiday parade

tonight, big sister marched with the band in the town's holiday parade.  call time for the band was 4pm at the high school.  the kids were then bussed to the parade starting line, they marched & played along the route, then were bussed back to the high school from the parade finish.  seems like all had a holly, jolly time!!

lady lobos v panthers

tonight was the season opener for the 8th grade basketball season.  little sister made B team this year, so we are excited to see what she can do.  it was an exciting first game, and their first win 23-28.  no points scored by our #15, but she fouled twice, drew 1 foul, and missed 2 free throws.  we are proud of her for giving basketball a try and doing so well.

 
 

 

 

thanksgiving week

we spent the first half of our holiday week (saturday thru wednesday) in sa with my family - the girls enjoyed cousin time, pool time, and we even made it to the alamo for a quick visit.  with weather in the low 70s....it felt more like springtime.  we had an early thanksgiving meal - but who complains about too much green bean casserole??

then, we headed to houston to spend a few days (wednesday thru satruday) with daddy's side and we had yet another thanksgiving meal.  more cousin time, virtual reality play, and walking their new dog, hank.  it was nice to relax for a few days and get away from the everyday routine.  but it is always nice to go back home again, too.

cross country

today was the district cross country meet for little sister.  she has been competing in meets for the past month on wednesdays.  today, she placed 28rd overall, 3rd among the eighth grade girls competing from her school.  she has a good time hanging with her friends, riding the bus, and being cheered on by her coaches.
