banquet cookies

 i received a request to make 3 dozen tennis cookies for the high school banquet.  with about 2 weeks' notice, i felt i had plenty of time.  even though i was in the middle of making all of the graduation cookies, i felt confident i would be able to manage.  first, i had to come up with the design...i thought a tennis ball would be cute, for sure, and simple.  then i came across a design for a tennis court that used colorful sprinkles to represent the crowd of people in the stands.  lastly, i chose to make a heart shape with tennis rackets inside it.

let me tell you - i spent a full, SOLID 2 days (i.e, my entire weekend) decorating these cookies! my client also at the last minute requested 25 additional cookies for the powerlifting banquet.  being me/unable to say no....i added those to the to-do list.  and it was rather humid, so drying the icing was a challenge.  but, all 61 cookies turned out soooo cute!

it is so satisfying when i can package up all the completed cookies and send them on their way!

the powerlifting cookie designs were a bit more challenging.  i used the tried n true school logo design, then added a weight plate and barbell.

i used a dog bone cutter for the barbell, but cut off the ends to be flat.

i think they turned out well.

nhs ceremony

 tonight little sister joined the smarties club.  it was fun to do this is person again.  (big sister's a few years back was virtual due to covid.)

beach ball cookies

 another cookie order for my most-frequent customer!  11 beach balls for her soccer team that is headed to florida for a tournament.  thank goodness for the quickness of a stencil!!

soccer banquet

little sister was looking fancy tonight with her soccer pals at the boys & girls jv/varsity soccer banquet.  she may have been most excited about her lime green heels and nails to match. ;-)

promposal

although it has been the plan for a few months now, big sister's prom date finally made it official with a promposal.  boba tea, her favorite!!

lilies in bloom

each year the girls get bigger and it's harder to make the lilies the focus of the photo.  i also spread out the bulbs so they are not as clumped together - thus not as full-looking in photos.  oh well, the tradition must continue so that is just part of the fun!
