 another home game today & another 5-0 victory!

time for lilies

this year's lily crop once again did not disappoint.  with the extended sub-freezing weather we had in february, i was a bit concerned if they would bloom on time.  i am loving this tradition!!

 after rain late in the week, and a cancelled game yesterday due to wet fields, it turned out to be a beautiful day for soccer.  big sister took more photos today at little sister's soccer game.

little sister was captain.

big sister captured a fun series of pics where little sister was about to collide with the goalie.  the goalie went down and little sister hopped right over!!  

she as not happy to lose this goal!

they ended the game with a 5-0 win.  just 3 games left in the season - hope the dry weather holds out!

action-packed afternoon

a sunny, humid spring day that was only saved by the breeze & my seat in the shade.  :-)

fusion had a 2pm game on their home field and came out with a hard-fought victory.  this is the first team they played that gave them some competition, so it was fun yet a little nerve-wracking to watch.  big sister came to the game (for a nice change) and enjoyed taking over my camera.  of the ~600 pics she took, i selected some of the best to share here....

soccer again

another saturday....another day FULL of soccer.  first up:  a 45+ minute drive to a game at 10:30am where fusion maintained their undefeated record with an 8-0 win.  little sister even scored a nice goal!

we had to leave the game shortly after halftime to get little sister back for a full afternoon of refereeing 4 games.  never any time to rest for this girl!!

happy easter!

the girls were excited to wake up and see that their easter baskets had been filled overnight.  they got lots of chocolate candy, new toys, and some cute jammies.

we enjoyed a yummy ham meal with hash brown casserole, asparagus, black-eyed peas, croissants, and the girls' favorite side: green bean casserole.

the weather was nice enough to eat on the patio, and then the girls has fun with a dozen cascarones.  they were covered in confetti by the time it was all over!!

happy birthday, daddy!

 daddy spent his 47th birthday playing video games - of course!  he requested chinese take-out for dinner, after which we serenaded him with song, candles, and yummy treats.

since tomorrow is easter....and daddy loves peeps - his "cake" seemed like a no-brainer.
i made rice cereal treats using peeps for the marshmallows.

first time, and last time.

the sugary coating on peeps made for a gritty finish to what is normally a successful recipe.

oh well, they sure were pretty to look at! ;-)
