wakeboard party

big sister got invited to a wakeboarding birthday party today for a classmate/neighborhood friend.  the party spent all their time in the practice pool.  we were happy to see big sister even attempt the sport.  she got up on her first try, which i failed to record (of course!) - but here are her subsequent attempts.

she walked away with a pretty cool party favor, too!

 

spring band concert & awards

big sister had her spring band concert tonight.  first each instrument section played a small piece of their music, just so parents could get a taste of how much they had all improved as an instrument group since the fall.  there was no clarinet squeaking this time!

then they played 3 songs.

up next was the 6th grade awards ceremony at the high school auditorium.  only kids receiving awards were in attendance.  big sister received all A's for first quarter, and we are very proud!

 

 

wakeboarding

this morning, the wakeboard park was reserved for our end of year soccer funfest.  there were bounce houses, games, food, drinks - but all little sister wanted to do was wakeboard.  she did pretty well for it being her first time ever.  she only lasted a few seconds, but kept trying until she just got tired.  it was windy and in the 60s, which meant being wet meant being cold.  so proud of her for trying!!  she is way braver than her momma.

big sister continues to amaze me.  she has been working so hard at school, which earned her an invitation to become a member of the national junior honor society.  applications were due the day after spring break, and the induction ceremony was last night.  she was very proud to take her certificate and pin to school today to show it off.

we've been waiting for a few weeks now to go to our very first musical.

  big sister read the musical in english class last fall, so when i heard it was coming to town, we decided to get tickets.  she invited a friend from school, and we carpooled with another mom & daughter from school.  the girls had a great time seeing the show and were singing all the way home.

there were a few nail-biter sets, but the cRaZy SoCcEr MoNkEyS ended their 2nd season together with a perfect record.

now it's off to the regionals tournament in 2 weeks!!
