tonight was a makeup game that was originally cancelled due to bad weather a few weeks ago.  just to show how bad it's been - we are 5 1/2 weeks into the season, and should have played 5 games by now but we've only played 3.  and we should have had 12 practices but we've only had 4.  
it was late for a school night, with the game starting at 7:45 - which meant we did not get home until after 9 pm.  but we had gorgeous weather in the low 70's, a clear sky, and another **sparkles*** win!  9 - 3 was the final score.

finally, the girls got to play soccer again.  with all the rain, snow, ice, and wet fields as a result, plus spring break - tonight was the first chance since about a month ago to play a game.  and the **sparkles*** came away with a 7 - 1 victory after the other team scored first.  let's hope the fields dry up a bit so we can continue the season.

spring break "camp grandma"

when grandma janet offered to take the girls for spring break this year, we were oh so happy to oblige!  they spent sunday thru friday up in oklahoma - with rarely a dull moment.  from museum trips to lunch with grandpa to volunteering at the foster kids store to clothes shopping, the girls barely had time to be homesick.  they are even talking about going for an extended 2-week visit this summer.

new fence

after 13 years with a builder-grade wood fence, we decided it was time for a new one.  at roughly $35/lf, we hope it lasts at least as long as the first one did.  it's so very pretty!
