fancy hair

 little sister wanted a bun in her hair this morning.  i think a classmate of hers had one yesterday.  we'll have to see what it looks like at the end of the day, as i am not sure how well the 3 bobby pins will hold up.  she was excited to look in the mirror, but a little shy to show daddy.  silly girl!

pizza party

the girls met the "big cheese" himself last night at a birthday party for one of little sister's classmates.  little sister was afraid of the robotic mouse, but not this one.  she even gave him a high five.  but no one went near the robotic, singing one...

big sister tagged along for the pizza and games.  she also had fun playing photographer.

best cough drops ever

okay - so we discovered these great cough drops while in california during thanksgiving.   great-grandma had a few of them and they really calmed down little sister's cough.  it was such a blessing!  so, when grandpa went back at christmas, we asked him to bring us back a package of them.  we saved the wrapper and everything so he knew just what kind to get.

well, the wrapper looks like this:

soothing colors, a photo of a healthy plant on it, and the drop itself is light tan and shaped like a seashell.  it is also impossible to tell what exactly they are - unless you read japanese... 

 oh look, the back of the package has some english on it...  "sweet candy"???  no wonder it cured little sister's cough.  oh well - as long as it worked, i suppose...

anyone want a cough drop??  we've got plenty.

report card reward

awards assembly day was friday, and both girls came home with honors for the past 9 weeks and the 1st semester.  big sister received perfect attendance, A-B honor roll, and the star student award for hard work and great behavior.  little sister earned awards for perfect attendance and A honor roll.  to celebrate, we took the girls (& their report cards) to gattitown to take advantage of their current promotion - all A’s earns a $10 game card, A’s & B’s earns a $5 game card.  so with $15 (plus what daddy contributed), they spent a few hours playing games like air hockey, skee-ball, and bumper cars.  but the best part was trading in points at the end for prizes.  not a bad way to spend a chilly winter day.

rollin'...rollin'...rollin'...

 it was finally warm & dry enough this afternoon to drag out our new roller skates.  they get better each time, but little sister has really picked up her speed and is not afraid of anything.  both girls discovered the slight downhill slope of our front sidewalk and driveway, and they thought it was cool that they would slowly roll down towards the street with little effort and the help of gravity.  i kept waiting for one of them to wipe out, but luckily they kept their balance and avoided injuries.

pajama day

celebrating the last day of winter break with pajama day...thanks to grandma & grandpa w for the coordinating jammies!  we even had monster high knee socks to wear to keep our toes warm.

speaking of pajamas - here is a photo of our new holiday jammies.  in all the festivities, i did not remember to get a photo of the girls in front our tree, so this will have to do...
